Throughout the course we have developed a repertoire of technology-enhanced activities by completing a number of weekly 'badge' submissions within our technological pedagogical and content knowledge (TPACK) quest. Each of the quests focused on a specific area of knowledge and/or professional development, including gamification, copyright, cybersafety, modalities to display information (photopeach, twitter, powtoon) and many more. Although the process seemed a bit daunting at first, my experiences with using each of the digital tools was extremely rewarding and educational. When I ask my students to create a Genius Hour project, I now have a deeper understanding of the steps involved, and the tools they can use. I particularly found the gamification badge interesting, and I'm sure my students would appreciate the application of game-design elements in their daily lessons. When I completed the badges I gained a sense of accomplishment, and felt motivated to continue. Overall, I would recommend incorporating blended learning and elements of gamification in any classroom, as it is a great pedagogical tool that continues to emerge and remain relevant in 21st century classrooms.
